How to start preparation for IAS exam without coaching?

Step 1 - Solve Previous Year Question Papers

Before starting the intense IAS preparation, students are advised to solve the previous year UPSC question paper to understand the nature of UPSC questions like How each topic is handled and why such questions were asked in Exams. So, for this aspirants have to solve 5 to 10 years of UPSC question papers.

Step 2 -  Proper Study Plan

Students preparing for IAS exam without coaching should have a proper study plan. They should have a long-term plan for 1 year and short-term plan of weekly and daily study plans.

For news analysis, students are advised to follow daily All India Radio (AIR) news analysis, Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV debate. Such analysis will provide in-depth knowledge on Current Affairs Topics.

Step 6 -  Performance Analysis

Candidates should analyse their study preparation periodically, for analysing their performance students can get their practice prelims and mains question paper from the market and start solving that question papers. It will help them to understand where their preparation level is, based on this student can analyse their strength and weakness.

Note: Initially, students will face difficulty in solving the question. So, don t lose hope as time progresses students performance will also increase.
